PIFs and Quaker Friendship RR

Jinger got several of us started on a Quaker Friendship RR, and we are all still at the baby stages, deciding upon fabrics and threads. I'm thinking of using DMC's new Color Variations in this pink and melon colored blend on 32 ct. linen called "French Lace." My other thought is to use all the new colors in this series... I have shown some of them above (in perle cotton). We are supposed to get started very soon!! Don't want to make this such a serious sampler...just a happy, friendship sampler.

NEWS: I am soooo delighted to have been pulled from the hat of Fate in Edgar's draw for his PIFs for the year!! I am one of three and am so excited to be on the receiving end of an Edgar stitchery.
This means that I am putting out the word to all of you that I'm opening up the possibility to three of you to sign up as my PIFs for the year. PIF= Pass It Forward...which entitles the PIFer to receive a surprise package of some stitching kind from me! If there are more than 3 who would like to be chosen, I will exercise my little feathered hat and pull out the 3 winners, myself! Please leave your requests in my comments section.
Thirdly, and really so importantly, I appreciate all of you who took the time to answer me about my loss of commentors on my blog. I didn't understand about this "rapid reading" thingie with Google. I still don't understand it. I know that I'm sort of resigned to sit at my computer for hours...literally 4-5 hours per week just to catch up and comment on friends' blogs. I, too, read many and don't always comment. So, I'm guilty of the same no commenting behavior. It's just nice to know there's someone out there who's a friend and cares, isn't it. Thank you, dear friends for taking the time to talk to me.

Here's my new progress on Karen's Neighborhood...it's coming along.

I only have 4 more days to mail this one on to Sabine! :) Got to think of something for the sky section. I have the ground area covered. Do you have any suggestions for the sky besides birds?

Hugs, and thanks again for being there....
Deb

Hmmm I suppose you could have a sun and some clouds or stars and moon and you could add a large tree with limbs reaching up and over the house... an owl and some crows and a squirrel or two in the tree, or on the roof of the house... some birds in flight... honey bees...

I can't wait to see what you come up with... it's going to be goregous!

Love and {{{Hugs}}}

Hello! I don't mean to lurk! I started reading your blog a while ago, but I use RSS feeds and that type of thing just leads you from one blog to the next without displaying the comment boxes.

Well anyway, greetings from Minnesota and I love the colors you chose for the sampler!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions!! I'd been thinking of clouds...rainy ones. Can't use sun and moon because of the next door house...:[

Hey Deb, I love the colours you chose for your new Round Robin! And the neighbourhood, well, what can I say? Rainy clouds sound fine to me!

I can't wait to see your new RR Deb. I love the fabric and the threads you're thinking of using.

Your new start needlecase is so pretty. I love those colours.

I think a lot of blogs are finding a loss of commenters. I find it depends on what I'm posting as to whether I get a lot of comments or just a few. I think it depends on what stitching I'm showing! I do tend to spend a lot of time going through blogs but don't always comment but I love reading and I always read yours.

Hi Deb,

Here I am, head cold and all...
You may want to disinfect this
post before reading.

Your golden house on Karen's
Neighbourhood RR looks great
and is a lovely addition to the
piece. I like the little fence
at the front, and the colours
used in the hill/grassy part.
And I love red doors on houses.

You've got some gorgeous threads
pulled for the Quaker Friendship
RR. It'll be hard to choose
which you'll want to use to stitch
this design.

And congrats on being chosen to
participate in Edgar's PIF. He
is such an amazing stitcher, so
whatever he makes for you will be
something to treasure I'm sure.

There's some gorgeous stuff indeed
coming out of Market and it's
going to be so hard to choose
what to get first. I've listed
my ultimate favourite on my blog
but there are others that have
also caught my eye.

Life's just too short to read all
the books that I want to read,
stitch all the projects that I
want to stitch, read and comment
on all the blogs that I love to
visit, and watch all the tv series/
movies that I want to watch. Not
to mention time spent with friends
and family, and the usual family
obligations. Work of course is a
necessity, but not counted on the
above list of fun stuff.

It's interesting to read about
Edger Allen Poe, and his writings.
I'm not much for poetry, but one
of my favourite singers Loreena
McKennitt often sets epic poems
to music and that I love. (The
Highwayman, The Lady of Shallot)

Your little grand daughter makes
an adorable ballerina.

Cheers!

Deb, I want to say THANK YOU so much for supporting me in the Run For the Cure. This is my first time ever doing anyting like this... running has been such a psychological block/fear for me and I figured it was time to get over it... and for what better cause than Breast Cancer Research. I know every dollar is going to a great cause.

The colours in your new quaker friendship RR are just beautiful! I personally wouldn't use all the colours in the new DMC line. But I'd pick a few two to compliment each other and one to pop! That would be just stunning.

Karen's neighbourhood RR is looking great!
