Strange Week

Sorry I haven't been blogging. I've had a horrible cold or something, maybe allergies? And, I've been laying low for the last week.
However, to brighten my day!!! I got a lovely book package from Kajsa today! Thank you so much, dear friend! It looks great, and I hope to start it when I feel better. Kajsa knows (as you all do!) how much I love Marie Antoinette. She tells me this wasn't the easiest book to read, but it was worthwhile and a good one to have in my book collection about the times of Marie before the Revolution and Mme Guillotine.

Haven't felt much like stitching, though I did pick up my Neighborhood RR last night, and am just finishing up one of them. I also have Marie's in hand and can't settle on a Halloween house to add to it. If any of you has a suggested house, please email me!! This is not my best genre.... sorry to say. Though I think it's darling, and Marie's beginning is so phenomenal! Here's a picture of her start:

Isn't it wonderful!!?? So, you can see I have to find a special house!

I have been hit by UNINVITED people in my comments area. So I want to warn you if you see anyone who has put a note saying "see here" or something similar by their name or entry DO Not Open or go there, please.

If any of you has had this problem before, please email me about it. I'm not sure what I need to do to get them off my blog case now. I don't want to compromise any of your sites.

Until later, I thank you for being there for me....Hugs, Deb

You could tighten up your comments section by making it necessary to type in a code that shows it's a real person leaving the comment. Or you can select comment moderation, so you have to personally approve each comment before it appears on your blog. They're a real nuisance. :(

I'm really sorry you've been ill. Seems to be the week for it. Niek's only just now beginning to feel (and act!) human again. Take care of yourself.

I don't know of a Halloween house that would fit with what's already there. The ones I can think of are too primitive. Could you stitch a regular house but add on to the pattern with pumpkins, etc? Good luck!

Hope you feel better soon! Good luck with your Halloween House search!! :)

I'd agree with Barbara about comment moderation. I personally HATE typing in those weird combos of letters for verification, and approving comments isn't too hard - you can do them right from your dashboard.

I have only been hit once with an odd/strange comment but enabling the letter verification seems to have helped. This has been a rough winter all around. so many people seem to be hit by so many different bugs. I am just recovering myself. Take care of yourself girl - we miss you!!!!

I've noticed some silly comments on a few blogs recently which must be so annoying, and whilst I don't like typing in those ltters either, if it makes it safer for you, then that's what you have to do.

I haven't had those comments on my blog but have had them on posts I've made on the Freebie Gallery. I just deleted them. I have to admit they are a nuisance.

Hope you're feeling much better soon {{{{hugs}}}}

Hope you feel better soon! Sorry I don't have any suggestions for Marie's RR, but her start looks wonderful. I'm sure you'll find something.

Sorry you haven't been feeling well. That RR is very unusual, but stunning ;)

I've uploaded a piccie of the only Halloween House I have - but it may not suit what you have in mind, plus it might actually be too big? I'd be happy to send it to you if you'd find it useful (it's pulled out of the XS & Country Crafts Sep/Oct 1993 mag. I'll put a piccie on my blog for you in just a few moments (just have to upload the piccie first!). xx

Sorry you're not feeling so well. The bug certainly seems to be making the rounds!
I thought of 2 houses that might work. One is Elizabeth's designs Haunted House and Prairie Schooler has a house in its Pumpkin Patch chart that could work. I've got the patterns in my stash that Marie has stitched. They are actually 2 separate patterns that can be combined.

Here are a couple more Halloween suggestions: I love "Haunt the Night Away" by Brittercup Designs, and Lilybet Designs has one called "Halloween House". Good luck - this is a fantastic RR!

That halloween house is wonderful.

For comments, I would put comment moderation on, that's what I use.

I am so sorry to hear you've been unwell, Deb! I hope you are feeling better now... seems the virus/bug thingys have been so wicked this Winter...

I love, love, love the Halloween design on Marie's NRR... Who is the designer? Everyone has named some great patterns... Glendon Place has a great one, Grimm, Glum and Gloom On Halloween, and I know there are others, but I'm having a momentary lapse of memory just now... lol

I agree with everyone else... turn on your comment moderation... and hopefully who or whatever it is will go away. :-)

hello my dear deb,
sorry to hear that you've been hit by colds as well. all of my family members (MIL, DH, SIL & her DD) here had their share of colds and flu recently, luckily i didn't... been teasing hubby that maybe 'coz i don't have their genes (though MIL says i surely do...lol)
hope you're feeling better now.

hugs,

Goodness, I'd never thought of putting more than one of the houses together - what a GREAT idea! I've done the one on the left (years ago), and have the pattern for the one on the right... I may have to do it and find three others I like and make a "street of the seasons" or somesuch. Whee!

I use comment moderation it seems to stop unwanted visitors.

The Halloween houses for pumpkin picking is beautiful. I’m going to try and get the cross stitch patterns. I also like your gridding to keep things in order. I’m just trying my hand at gridding. Have had to take out my first attempts. It’s for a large Mirabella “ 9/11 angel so it’s big. Enjoyed your site.
