"Nineteen Minutes" Jodi Picoult's Twist on Columbine

Jodi Picoult hardly ever fails to write a readable and thought-provoking novel. This is certainly a novel of our times...recreating the Columbine killings from the perspective a couple of kids caught up in the catastrophic and momentary madness which could change their lives forever.

You can't help enjoying this book from many different angles. It's not a light-hearted novel, but it's one that will, as always, make you wonder "What would I do...?"

Ms Picoult has a new novel coming out soon. But, I want to direct you to Amazon.com, where you can find an inexpensive "short" of hers for about $2. Anything written by Jodi is bound to please...so I bought it to fill in the waiting time!

New review coming soon!

 On a secondary note:

I'm starting a new review day on Fridays. The reviews will be up every 3rd Friday of the month. The review section will be:

"Books From the Past"

I've decided there are far too many great books that I bought and haven't read. And, there are far too many books in the library and on bookstore shelves that haven't been read.

So, I'm going to read one a month and give a review of the book for you. I hope you'll come and see me on the 3rd Friday of every month to read the reviews. And, I hope it stirs up some new interest in books we've missed that are fantastic reads!

Have a great weekend! I'll be visiting your blogs and befriending new ones....

Your Bookish Dame/Deborah

I loved this book and gave it a 5 star. Even though I don't believe in the shootings, it does open up our eyes to what bullying does and how it makes someone act out.

I have this one in my stash but haven't read it yet. Her last book that I read, "Handle with Care", was so good, but so disturbing, especially the end. I guess it's the hallmark of a good writer--I was invested in all of the characters and was upset that it didn't end the way that I wanted it to go.

I read this and you are quite right it was very very good and a great page turner. I think i'm just sick of crying when I read her books lately.
