There are different counts of Aida, and they're good to master, IMHO, before you start with linen. Although, once you are very comfortable with the Aida, you could move to some of the clearly counted linens.
I use all brands of linen..I love handdyed linens and usually 36-40 cts., though I will use 32& 25 ct. if a chart calls for it. Have fun! I originally started with a stamped, then counted “kits”. I’m working on my 2nd chart and have noticed some big differences in floss types and quality.
My Cross Stitch Mentor has told me that I’m ready to graduate from Aida, but I really like Aida. Maybe it’s just beginner’s comfort???
If you would answer my question… What type of fabric or fabrics do you prefer and why? Brands and counts?
Linen seems to be very popular.
I would appreciate any advice, thanks!Craft-i-leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01795912257572903966noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3401632442730079165.post-62843647448656196682009-02-22T18:59:00.000-05:002009-02-22T18:59:00.000-05:00What a GORGEOUS chart to receive! What a GORGEOUS chart to receive!Dani - tkdchickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08304768491192625890noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3401632442730079165.post-38040205074091711492009-02-21T06:24:00.000-05:002009-02-21T06:24:00.000-05:00Your bargello is absolutely gorgeous!Irina (Moscow...Your bargello is absolutely gorgeous!
Irina (Moscow, Russia)aceretahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06792174919477933855noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3401632442730079165.post-33783062919594976522009-02-19T07:07:00.000-05:002009-02-19T07:07:00.000-05:00Will you send me your address? micheletbruce@gmail...Will you send me your address? micheletbruce@gmail.com

Thanks! ;)the striped rosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13971373349800972797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3401632442730079165.post-89746591350823224862009-02-18T20:10:00.000-05:002009-02-18T20:10:00.000-05:00Congrats on your win! You're a gal
after my own heart that way.

How sweet of your son to brave
the unknown like that at Xmas
so that he could pick you up some
Belle Soie threads. He got you
some yummy colours, didn't he?

I try to keep my blogging/computer
space fairly clear since I also
sit here to stitch and to do
book keeping and other such stuff.
And the cats nap here too when
one of us is here.

Sometimes the piles of stuff grow and grow and then I have to get tough with myself and sort, weed and either toss or store. Don't blog in the altogether though. Don't want to traumatize the cats.

Read your posts about the peeping
Tom and am horrified to imagine
such a thing. Hope that you're
still being very careful when
home at night. And I hope that
this nutcase gets caught soon
and gets his ass put in jail for
a looonnnggg time!

I love those Quaker designs that
have come out of the Nashville
market too. I'd love to do the
basket top but wouldn't have a
clue how to finish it, or where
to find the appropriate basket.
And that Long Dog design is
gorgeous!! Sigh! There's just
not enough stitching time in one
short life time.

Cheers!Crazee4bookshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07978860714766853681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3401632442730079165.post-28383073641045297742009-02-17T06:04:00.000-05:002009-02-17T06:04:00.000-05:00What a beautiful give-away you've won!
